CNA Supervisor

Position Summary: Provide quality training for new Certified Nurse Aides as well as coordinate care for residents in an environment which promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality.
Essential Responsibilities:
Onboard New Certified Nurse Assistants
Follow through with new staff with 30/60/90-day touchpoints.
Assist in development and implementation in training assignments for new staff.
Manage, create, and adjust CNA assignments for each unit in collaboration with the clinical manager.
Schedules shift meetings routinely and as need.
Implements and follows through with teambuilding on assigned shift.
Follows through with completion of point of care documentation.
Completes audits on care including weights, vitals, oral care and nail care completion.
Implements shower schedules for residents on assigned shift.
Manages 360 care appointments, assists with residents’ schedules for 360 care appointments if on assigned shift.
Assists with transportation needs if needed.
Point of contact for supply requests and supply control on each unit.
Call light monitoring and follow through.
Equipment management for the units
Works assignment on the floor based on facility need.
Assists with scheduling and covering shifts.
On Call every third weekend
Meet with the Certified Nurse Assistant Manager as scheduled or necessary, to discuss resident’s service plans, needs and progress.
Ensure compliance with established infection control procedures.
Assumes the role of Supervisor on duty when DON and Staff Nurse are off duty.
Report any actual or suspected waste, fraud or abuse to the DON and/or supervisor immediately.
Assumes all other position related responsibilities as assigned.

Education, Training, Experience:
Certified Nursing Assistant Certification in good standing with the State of Michigan
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certified Nurse Aide in Long-Term Care for minimum of 3 years
Required Licenses, Registration, and/or Certifications:
Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
Nonessential Responsibilities:
Meet on-going requirements to maintain current certified nurse assistant certification.
Practice high standards of ethics, honesty, and accuracy.
Ensure resident/customer satisfaction.
Flexible schedule with ability to work weekends and holidays.
Operate equipment including mechanical lifts, shower equipment, adjustable chairs/beds, etc.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, residents, resident’s families, and the public.
