Position Details
DESCRIPTION OF THE DISTRICT:
The Brandon School District is a mid-size school district nestled in Northwest Oakland County.
The district
has approximately 1,000 students in junior kindergarten-5th grade between the two elementary schools,
approximately 600 at the middle school level and approximately 850 at the high school.
This small, tight
knit community has a strong connection to its schools and is passionate about the education of its youth.
Brandon High School sends 85-90% of its graduates to post-secondary school each year, it was ranked in
the 82nd percentile of all schools in the State on the top-to-bottom rankings and it was awarded as a Silver
Medal Winner by the US News.
Our elementary schools are both one-to-one technology are each near
the 83rd percentile in State rankings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have documented evidence of organizational skills, knowledge, experience, preparation and
aptitudes in the above sport commensurate with the level of the position
• Must have demonstrated ability to work with and motivate young people and adults
• Must be available during the time requirements of the position
• Certification in CPR/AED (and first aid preferred)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Directly responsible for all matters relative to program including but not limited to, player
personnel, practice sessions, care and maintenance of equipment and supervision of players during
practice, games, travel, team finances and other team functions.
• Be knowledgeable of and consistently enforce school, District, League and state association
(MHSAA) rules and policies.
• Effectively communicate with players, officials, fellow coaches, parents, administrators and
community members.
• Ensure that the safety and welfare of the athletes is a top priority in the organization and
implementation of practice and game situations.
• Be responsive to instructions and directions of the district Athletic Director and other appropriate
school administrators.
• Present a professional image and provide a positive role model in terms of personal habits, language
and conduct.

WORK DAYS: 20-25 hours per week
