Job Summary
Cleans and disinfects assigned work area according to department procedures.
Removes medical waste, trash and linens.
Performs the interim and restorative maintenance of the health system's hard floor, carpets and upholstery according to procedures.
Fully functioning in one area of responsibility.
Essential Functions
Responsible for the cleaning, disinfecting and stocking of patient rooms, offices and ancillary areas according to established procedures.
Responsible for the removal and disposal of linens and waste streams.
Performs interim and restorative maintenance to hard floor, carpets and upholstery according to procedures.
Assembles, maintains and stores equipment/supplies that are necessary to complete tasks according to department standards.
Communicates and collaborates with other members of the team to ensure continuity and coordination of services.
Reports general maintenance and specialized cleaning requirements in work area.
Assists visitors and employees in navigating through the hospital to reach their destination.
Fully functioning within one cleaning area.
May be expected to work across department sites for coverage and business need.
Qualifications
Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent
Public service and or customer service experience in a hotel, hospital, environmental services, or janitorial experience Preferred
