Frankel Jewish Academy, recently ranked as one of the Top STEM schools in the country by Newsweek, is currently seeking a full-time biology teacher.
Applicants must be prepared to teach a variety of science courses and be certified with an endorsement in Science (DI) and/or Biology (DA).
An additional endorsement in Mathematics (EX) is desirable, but not necessary.
We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about working with high school students, enthusiastic about the subject matter they teach, and creative in the way that this material is delivered.
This full-time teaching position is for the 2023-2024 school year .
Prospective candidates must:
Have previous high school teaching experience in science.
Have a strong background in science education.
Have a valid Michigan secondary teaching certificate or the ability to acquire one.
Work with Science Department colleagues and other faculty to develop an enriching curriculum that is implemented fully in a manner that is both meaningful and relevant.
Design and facilitate engaging lab activities.
Be enthusiastic about continuing to learn and grow in his/her professional practice.
Participate in our school’s teacher mentoring program.
