Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join our team.
As a Physical Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing students with a comprehensive physical education curriculum that promotes physical fitness, health, and overall well-being.
You will create engaging lesson plans, lead activities and games, and provide guidance on proper exercise techniques.
Duties:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate physical education lesson plans
- Teach students various sports, exercises, and fitness activities
- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play among students
- Monitor and assess student progress in physical education
- Provide individualized instruction to students with special needs or limitations
- Ensure the safety of students during physical education activities
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate physical education into the overall curriculum
- Organize and supervise extracurricular sports teams or events
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field
- State teaching certification in Physical Education
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices
- Strong understanding of various sports, exercise techniques, and fitness training methods
- Ability to effectively manage student behavior in a physical education setting
- Familiarity with learning technology tools for physical education instruction
- Experience working with students with special needs or in special education settings is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in using educational resources such as the Chicago Manual Style, library services, creative writing techniques, and public speaking
