Coordinates freight requests with company equipment, independent contractors, and/or outside brokers to meet customer’s requests.
Focuses on intermodal container transportation.
Handles all related administrative duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the daily dispatch of company trucks and owner operators by communicating load information and any special instructions.
Monitors drivers’ performance including on-time deliveries, customer service, and condition of truck, and provides feedback to drivers on their performance.
Ensures compliance with Department of Transportation regulations, federal and state laws, regulations, and company policies.
Communicates important load/company information to drivers in a timely manner.
Responsible for efficient load allocation through maximizing use of equipment/manpower and minimizing deadhead miles.
Monitors equipment locations in order to match the closest equipment with customer needs.
Seeks ways to generate extra revenue and improve equipment utilization.
Records and documents load information and assignments along with driver paperwork.
Communicates with customers in order to maintain correct inventory levels.
Provides customer support to negotiate/establish rates, provide transportation services, and help resolve problems.
Maintains list of available equipment and assigns equipment according to factors such as length of service, freight requirements, etc.
Coordinates with Maintenance for scheduling equipment into yard for service/repair or for on-the-road breakdown repairs.
Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety requirements.
Provides a “Customer Service” attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe workstation/environment at all times.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has multiple direct reports.
Carry out and oversee interviewing, selecting, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and Experience:
Education: Associates Degree from a two-year college
Experience : 2-4 years in transportation, logistics, or similar field
Previous Supervisory experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of DOT regulations, federal and state laws and regulations and company policies.
Knowledge of DOT drug testing, physical exams, and license renewals policies and regulations.
Geographical knowledge and the ability to read maps.
Ability to enter data, compile accounting documents, and work accurately and efficiently with
detailed transactional information.
Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, management, owner operators and vendors.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to work independently without close supervision.
Proficiently working with various software programs.
Ability to maintain good attendance habits.
