Broadband Dispatcher

Reports to: Broadband Services Supervisor Job Summary: This position is responsible for scheduling and coordinating drop construction and fulfillment service work for Holland BPW Fiber Optic Technicians and contractor crews.
Essential Duties: Coordinate Fiber Optic Field Technicians during day-to-day operations in the field.
Schedule and coordinate fiber drop construction work for Broadband Department personnel and contractors and maintain related records.
Utilize scheduling software and other applications to maintain a schedule for customer support and ensure scheduling is communicated to other Broadband Services employees.
Assist in managing route scheduling, equipment inventory, and Field Tech activities.
Communicate activation schedule to customer.
Respond to customer questions and requests.
Coordinate needed inspections and permits with Broadband Outside Plant staff to facilitate drop construction.
Perform all other tasks as assigned.
Essential Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years’ experience in customer service and operational administration.
Interpersonal skills necessary to provide courteous and accurate information and responses to community members, contractors, and various levels of organizational personnel.
Preferred Qualifications: Specialized training in technical or business field.
Scheduling experience Experience in telecommunication operations and work planning.
Effective workplace skills as demonstrated through WorkKeys assessments (Workplace Documents – 5, Applied Math – 5, Graphic Literacy – 5).
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Mental ability to frequently handle pressures related to meeting deadlines, fulfilling scheduling requirements, prioritizing emergency repair work, etc.
Normal office environment with minimum discomfort due to noise, dirt and dust.
