Hello! Thank you for your interest in joining the Wellspring team as a Parent Education Provider, with the Foster Care Supportive Visitation Program (FCSV).

*As a Parent Education Provider within the FCSV program at Wellspring, you'll be part of a team committed to helping families throughout West Michigan, including Muskegon and Ottawa Counties.
You will have a bachelor's degree in social work, education or a related human services related field.
Prior to serving families you will complete a training program, provided by a certified Nurturing Parent trainer, that teaches the philosophy of Nurturing Parenting and how to implement and facilitate the program.
Additionally, one year experience working in human services is preferred.
A current driver's license, car registration and auto insurance, is required.
You will also be reliable, and have a responsible attitude, a compassionate approach and a commitment to quality in everything you do.

*As a Parent Education Provider, you will:*
* Maintain face to face contact with families according to the contract defined frequency and the individual needs of the family
* Provide skills training using the curriculum, including but not limited to: physical and emotional aspects of child development; communication; setting limits and child management; alternatives to corporal punishment; active listening; conflict resolution; family rules; helping children with feelings; etc
* Refer families/make collateral contact to community services
* Prepare written reports to DHHS as required within the expected time frames
* Safety plan with families to reduce risk
* Observe and respond to early signs of abuse and neglect
* Assure stable transportation plan, including transport in your own vehicle if needed
